I studied LomiLomi while living on the island of Kauai in 1999 under the lineage of Kahu Abraham. I hope that you will grow to love this ancient healing method as much as I do. I was also fortunate to spend some time with a local kumu and the family who shared their aloha and traditions with us. This included learning about their chants, dances, customs, foods and ceremonies. We were 'honored' to participate in an ancient ceremony that is not often shared with outsiders. This was one of the most profound spiritual experiences of my life. In 2010, Lomi Kumu Dane Silva and Brenda Ignacio will both be presenting hawaiian traditions at trainings I am offering on the island of Kaua'i.
Lomi does not begin or end with techniques alone. It is a life long journey where we will experience self healing and awakenings. In hawaiian traditions it took years to learn about this healing method, which included the studies of herbal medicines, the elements of the earth, prayer, breathing techniques and much more. Most of this was done through observation of the elder or huna. Studying the principles of the huna brings empowerment and wisdom and a new way of life.The hawaiian culture also found wisdom in silence when they communicated with nature.
Today, our western world teachings are much more condensed. We spend a week or a month studying and years practicing on our own or mentoring with practitioners many times over.Trainings will provide you with a setting, support, and foundation and it is up to you to master.
My travels to sacred sites in Egypt and Peru and studying shamanism, chakra healing, cranio sacral therapy and more has provided me with a greater gift of insights and personal empowerment.
